About Me
Hi! My name is Jordan Halford. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I work as a medical laboratory scientist at a local hospital, but I hope to enter the tech field as an aspiring data analyst! I’ve always been a curious person, tinkering with toys, computers, pretty much anything, and I love finding correlations in data. I wanted to combine the two, and what better way to do so than to become a data analyst?
Some of my favorite things to do when not at work include playing video games, watching movies, and listening to music. I also love finding new places to eat, as I love trying new kinds of food, whether it be Indian, Mexican, Italian, you name it. When I’m not out looking for new places to eat, I love a good comedy show or concert.
Some of my hobbies include crocheting and solving Rubik’s cubes. I learned how to crochet back in high school and have been doing it on and off since graduating. As for the Rubik’s cube, I like to go to competitions around the region to see if I can improve my times. To get more information about what I love to do, check out all of the details below.

Book Worm
I have been an on and off book reader my whole life. I love to get lost in worlds that are written across many worlds, landscapes, and times. Some of my favorite genres include thrillers, fantasy, mystery, and my all time favorite genre, science fiction. I love the worlds that can be created not only on Earth in this time period but also in the past or future as a futuristic tale about what can happen as humans potentially get taken over by machines or aliens. I am a major fan of stories that take place across the universe, or even ones that blur the lines of being contained in a multiverse. My current favorite authors include Kim Stanley Robinson, Zachary Wheeler, and Neal Stephenson.
I have always wanted to share my thoughts on the stories I have read. I have started reviewing books, which can be found in the review portion of this website. If you are looking for your next favorite book, or want a good recommendation, or just want to see what I have recently read and my thoughts are on said books, I suggest having a look.
Movies Galore
I may not be the world’s biggest movie buff, but I do love sitting down after a long day of work to watch a movie. Some of my favorite genres to watch include animation, comedy, and science fiction. My top five favorite movies are:
- Finding Nemo
- Shrek
- The Lion King
- Forrest Gump
- Harriet the Spy
You can check out the reviews to not only those five movies, but also any other movie I have watched in the movie section here on this website. If you are looking for a movie recommendation, or just want to see what movies piqued my interest, have a look there.

Casual Gamer
I may not be an e-sports gaming champion, but I do love to play a game every now and then, whether it’s on the PlayStation, Xbox, or even the Nintendo Switch. I’m a fan of visual novels, strategy, and puzzle games. My favorite games include:
- Tearaway
- The Zero Escape Trilogy
- Tetris
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
This is not an all encompassing list of my favorite games, but just a glance as to what I love to play.
Headphones On, World Off
Sometimes all you need is a curated playlist to help you escape the woes of the world. My favorite music genes to put on said playlist include indie-rock, pop, country, and rock. Some of my favorite artists are:
- Sugarland
- David Cook
- Whitney Houston
- Michael Jackson
- Carrie Underwood
Whether it’s listening to a Top 40 radio station, a Made for You playlist on Spotify, or even my own CD collection, I love listening to a good tune to help me either get some work done, exercise, or even clean the house.

Cuber
I may not be considered a world class solver who can solve in less than 10 seconds, but I do love going to some competitions, whether it be here in Pittsburgh, in the eastern part of Ohio, or even down in West Virginia, I do love to see if I can beat my personal bests. Some of the events I compete in include:
- 2×2
- 3×3
- 4×4
- Rubik’s Clock
And while I may not be able to beat the world record single of 3.08 seconds, or the record average of 4.03 seconds, but I do love casually solving the cube just for the enjoyment of solving the cube.
